We have paired up with Amanda Brothers of Sidekick Dog Training to provide onsite training at Doggy Haven Resort. We are pleased to have Amanda and her teaching team offer their expertise and great methods to a place we already love.

About Amanda
Amanda is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT), an international testing and certification program that requires references from a client, a colleague and a veterinarian, completion of 300+ training hours, a comprehensive exam, and ongoing education.

Brie works part-time as the Dog Behavior Manager at Homeward Pet in Woodinville where she conducts behavior assessments, trains shelter dogs and counsels potential adopters. She also offers private lessons to dog owners in the community through Sidekick Dog Training. She looks forward to soon receiving her CPDT certificate.

About Kim
Kim is the General Manager at Doggy Haven Resort and has trained employees in dog behavior for more than three years. Kim’s life revolves around dogs 24/7. She and her husband own three large Mastiffs that outweigh them both! She is honing her teaching skills with Amanda and is diligently working toward a CPDT certificate.

Classes

Class size minimum is 3 students with a maximum of 8 students. Our smaller class sizes ensure that you and your dog receive valuable one-on-one instruction. Classes are 1-hour in length unless otherwise noted.

Puppy for ages 4 months up to 7 months. Class meets once a week for 8-weeks.

Cost: $175

Advanced Puppy for ages up to 1 year. Class meets once a week for 4-weeks.
A continuation of Puppy. Distance, duration and distraction are added to skills learned. Challenges of adolescence are addressed. Class includes off-leash play with other puppies. Prerequisite: Puppy or instructor permission (contact the instructor). Cost: $100 or $225 Puppy + Advanced Puppy (must register & pay in advance for both classes)

Adult Beginner for ages 7 months and over. Class meets once a week for 4-weeks.

Cost: $100 or $175 for Adult Beginner + Adult Intermediate (must register & pay in advance for both classes)

Adult Intermediate for ages 7 months and over. Class meets once a week for 4-weeks.

Prerequisite: Adult Beginner OR instructor permission (contact the instructor) Cost: $100 or $175 for Adult Beginner + Adult Intermediate (must register & pay in advance for both classes)

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Prep & Test for ages 1 year and over. Class meets once a week for 4-weeks.
This class offers specialized training for dogs preparing to take the AKC's CGC test and includes three weeks of test preparation with the test taken on the last day. Students must have at least basic mastery of sit, down, stay and leash-walking before enrolling in the class. Cost: $100, test is included

Clicks & Tricks for ages 7 months and over. Class meets once a week for 4-weeks.
In this class, you will discover the power of shaping your dog's behavior using a clicker as a marker signal. Beginning, intermediate and advanced tricks will be introduced and are sure to make your dog the talk of the neighborhood. Fun for both dog and handler is guaranteed. No prior clicker experience necessary. Cost: $100

Off Leash Manners for ages 7 months and over. Class meets once a week for 4-weeks.
This class is designed to prepare you and your dog to attend the off-leash dog park without worrying that your dog will run away or get into other kinds of trouble. You'll learn the skills for identifying appropriate and inappropriate dog play and tips for stepping in when things go awry. Polite greetings of people and dogs, coming when called, car manners and leash manners will also be covered. Cost: $100

Feisty Fido for ages 7 months and over. Class meets once a week for 6-weeks; each class is 75 minutes.
Does your dog lunge, whine, bark and/or growl when he sees another leashed dog? If so, you are not alone! In this class, you will learn effective strategies to improve your dog's behavior around other dogs on leash. Instructor permission is required prior to enrolling in this class. Please contact the instructor for more information. Cost: $200

Tuition is due in full at the time of registration. Discounted fees (10%) are available to Doggy Haven clients and for dogs adopted through any local animal shelter or rescue organization.

Registration

Come join the fun! Registration for each session is open until classes are full.

• All dogs and puppies must be current on vaccines. Proof of vaccinations will be requested at the 1st class session.
• Dogs who are aggressive toward people or other dogs are not appropriate for group classes. Please contact the instructor prior to enrolling if you have concerns about your dog's behavior.
• Children ages 6 years and over are welcome to attend class with their parents.
